MiMonte Info Session in Fuente La Reina

Restoring Together: A Heartfelt Gathering in Fuente la Reina

Last Friday, Desert Leaves hosted an inspiring and informative event in the beautiful village of Fuente la Reina. The theme was “Invitation to restore and benefit from your land” — a call to action for sustainable reforestation and sustainable land management.

We were thrilled to welcome 14 participants, many of whom are landowners living outside the region. Their interest and commitment made the gathering all the more meaningful. It was a lively session with active participation, thoughtful questions, and a shared sense of purpose.

We explored how overgrown land, often seen as a wildfire hazard, can become a powerful asset. Through proper land management, we can not only protect our properties but also boost biodiversity, capture carbon, improve soil health, and reduce degradation.

What We Shared:

🐝 The benefits of biodiversity and nature restoration
🤝 Available subsidies for climat-smart forest management
🌿 Reforestation options, including possible carbon sequestration credits and support
🔥 How to join this growing initiative

The event was graced by a short visit from the mayor, whose presence was greatly appreciated. A big thank you to the municipality of Fuente la Reina for their collaboration and to the Bar Social for warmly hosting us!
